as for the old days, they are still out there, doing the old ways. However that is my opinion make of it what you will and do what you think is best. and some plugins can add features they don't have, that many users wish they did or improve on those they do have, that are maybe not that good.īut sadly a lot of it, is plugins just for the sake of them, which I personally think is the case here. Most top end programs, used by the top people, is never finished and someone will always think of a way to improve it or part of it. I am all for adding functionality to a program. but it's not going to get you a job if it's all you are using. Sure SketchUp has plenty of users out there.

If your going into the more Arch tech side, that would be AutoCAD and Revit. Learn the standard packages and learn them really well. but how about a company asking what you AutoCAD skills are like and you say, I prefer that plugin for Sketchup, they would just laugh.įirst tip.

but that means using keyboard shortcuts or hiding / unhiding menus. It makes it more unusable in my opinion, slower, harder to learn and with every tool and function having a button on screen, it gets really messy. I totally agree and that's why making software that is great at a particular job is far batter than cramming everything into it.
